New National Trust Visitors CentreThe Brief
- To construct a contemporary modern building, to blend within the grounds of the Historic Tyntesfield House. The new building is constructed at the entrance to the estate and used as a welcome centre and ticket office before entering the National Trust estate.
Work Included
- Temporary works to ensure paths and walkways were maintained for the visiting public.
- Significant levelling and stepped traditional foundations.
- Steel frame to create large open spaces.
- Timber and masonry infill clad with larch boards to the external walls.
- Birch faced plywood cladding and detailing to the internal walls.
- Thermally broken efficient aluminium glazing.
- External and landscaping works to blend the building with the existing landscape.
